- The biggest of the prehistoric crocodile species, Sarcosuchus, lived 110 million years ago and grew up to 12 metres long.
- Based on the fossils of their teeth found, Sarcosuchus was believed to have hunted "far meatier" predators than just fish.
- Scientists believed that this 'supercroc' could have tangled with Spinosaurus (though it was never its prey).
