❃ The Fiordland penguin (Eudyptes pachyrhynchus), known in New Zealand as the tawaki, is one of the world's rarest and most unusual penguins. Native to the rugged southwestern coast of New Zealand and nearby islands, it is instantly recognizable by the bright yellow crests sweeping above its eyes. Unlike the icy landscapes usually associated with penguins, tawaki can nest beneath lush temperate rainforest, making them true penguins of the forest.
❃ Fiordland penguins spend much of their lives at sea, diving for fish, squid, krill, and other marine prey before returning to land to breed. Powerful flippers propel them through the water, while their dense, waterproof feathers help protect them from the cold. On shore, pairs seek out secluded nesting sites beneath tree roots, inside caves, and among rocks and dense vegetation.

2. Give it a good fluff — gently knead the body and work the limbs, wings, ears, or tail to redistribute the filling.
3. Let it breathe. Most plush regain their full shape within 1–3 days, while larger or denser designs can take up to a week.
4. Smooth any flattened or creased fur with your fingers or a soft brush as it fluffs back up.
5. Want to speed things up? Use a hairdryer on low, warm heat, held about 20cm away. Keep it moving and use short bursts between fluffs. Never use high heat.
