❃ Parasaurolophus was a remarkable duck-billed dinosaur that roamed western North America around 75 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous. Reaching roughly 30 feet (9 meters) in length, this large herbivore is instantly recognizable by the spectacular tube-shaped crest sweeping backward from its skull. Despite its unusual appearance, that crest wasn't simply decoration—it contained an elaborate network of hollow passages connected to the dinosaur's respiratory system.

Computer models suggest air passing through the crest could have produced deep, resonating calls, potentially allowing individuals to communicate across considerable distances. ❃ As a hadrosaur, Parasaurolophus possessed a broad beak for gathering vegetation and batteries of tightly packed teeth capable of grinding tough plant material. It could move on both two and four legs, likely dropping onto all fours while feeding before rising onto its hind limbs when necessary. With its towering crest and potential prehistoric trumpet calls, Parasaurolophus must have been one of the most distinctive sights—and sounds—of the Cretaceous landscape.

4. Smooth any flattened or creased fur with your fingers or a soft brush as it fluffs back up.
5. Want to speed things up? Use a hairdryer on low, warm heat, held about 20cm away. Keep it moving and use short bursts between fluffs. Never use high heat.
